Roly Poly Animals
You may have seen a koala or wet Samoyed, but their fluffiness can sometimes be misleading. A chubby animal may appear to be super fluffy. We all know that a cute, furry, cuddly animal is the best!
These eight adorable roly-poly animals are too cute not to touch. You can also find simple tips for your pet to lose weight if they have started to gain weight.
Maine Coon Cats
Maine Coon cats have a reputation for being gentle giants of the cat world because of their fluffy, large bodies and calm nature. It’s not hard to see why. Male Maine Coons can weigh between 15-25 and 10-15 pounds, while females can be as heavy as 10-15 pounds.
Maine Coons were born in cold climates with freezing winters. They are equipped with thick, water-resistant, dense coats that give them a hefty appearance.
It’s important to keep your cat healthy. He could get sick, just like dogs. Talk to your vet to discuss a diet and exercise program that will help your cat lose weight. This could lead to many health problems.
Samoyed dogs
Samoyeds are one the most ancient dog breeds. They are known for their thick, fluffy coats and permanent smiles often referred to as “Sammy’s smile”. Samoyeds originated in Asia and were bred in Persia to herd animals, hunt, pull sleds, or pull sleds. However, it is believed that Samoyeds were more than just an assistant to the Samoyede. They were also treated as furry family members.
Are you concerned that your dog might be more than a fatter? It is important to control your dog’s weight as soon as possible. Excessive weight or obesity in dogs can cause host health problems such as joint pain and high blood pressure. 1
Assess your dog’s exercise and diet. What treats is she eating each day? Is she getting enough exercise? Next, discuss with your vet how you can create a weight loss plan suitable for your pet. Your vet will outline a healthy diet exercise plan and establish milestones for weight loss. Regular check-ins are also possible to track progress.
Domestic Bunnies
There are many myths and misconceptions about the domestication of rabbits. One incorrect theory is that rabbits were domesticated 600 years ago by French Monks. Another is that Pope Gregory declared Christians allowed to eat rabbit fetuses in Lent, even though they were not considered meat. This isn’t very clear!
The domestication of wild rabbits probably took place over many hundreds, if not thousands of years, worldwide. That’s how we have fluffy, rotund pet rabbits today!
Emperor Penguins
Although the Happy Feet penguins may seem innocent and sweet, this sad tale is incomplete. The Emperor Penguins are the largest penguin species, standing up to 48 inches tall, and can weigh as much as 100 pounds.
Emperor Penguins live in Antarctica, where it is very, very cold. They have layers of insulation fat and feathers that look like scales to keep the cold out. They also huddle together to keep warm, which they do often (and admirably).
Gray Squirrels
Gray squirrels are as charming as they can be! They are found in rural and urban environments across North America, Europe and Australia.
Gray squirrels often live near people, so it is not uncommon to see obese squirrels. Excessive weight or obesity can lead to serious health problems as with any animal. How can you help? You can help squirrels by squirrel-proofing your bird feeder and making sure your garbage is not accessible. Also, avoid feeding them when they are present in your yard. Although it’s cute to watch a squirrel eat a french fry, they are not doing you any favors.
Pandas
Pandas are very hungry. They spend around 12 hours eating bamboo, which accounts for 99% of their diet. What do they do with the rest? Play and snooze. Pandas truly live the dream.
